Murad Ali Shows Sindh budget 2015-16. KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly session is currently underway to unveil the annual tax-free and Rs.10 billion deficit budget of the province with a total outlay of Rs.739 billion for the fiscal year 2015-16, allocating Rs.200 billion for development projects.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani is chairing the budget session. Sources informed that it is proposed to allocate over Rs 165 billion for the annual development projects; Rs 65 billion for law and order; Rs 44 billion for education; Rs 53 billion for health and Rs 49 billion for Local Bodies.

EDUCATION
Over Rs150b are allocated for education in the budget 2015-16 with an increase of Rs10 billion as compared to last fiscal year.

DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
On development projects, Rs177 billion will be spent from the province’s revenue.

DEVELOPMENT EXPENSES
Provincial development expenditures are revised at Rs158 billion.

SALARIES
Rs240b has been fixed for the salaries of government employees.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
14,224 employment opportunities will be generated during 2015-16.

ASSEMBLY EXPENSES
Rs1b allocated for Sindh Assembly’s expenditures.

ENERGY SECTOR
Rs25.9 billion has been allocated for Energy sector.

RAPID BUS TRANSIT
Four Rapid Bus Transit projects have been allocated a grant in the budget

LAW AND ORDER
At least 10,030 posts will be created in Sindh Police and Rs1 billion has been reserved in this regard. Rs 61b has been reserved for the Sindh Police, while Rs2.4b has been reserved for Rangers compared to last year’s Rs2.2b.

AGRICULTURE
Agriculture development budget has been set at Rs4.5 billion. Rs50b will be recovered from cotton fees.

The Sindh government has met the targets set for 2014-15 in respect of tax revenues. New target set at Rs126 billion. The minister claims that province have shown better results in collecting tax revenues than federal government and other provinces.

Increase in budget of agriculture, irrigation, food, energy and works and services departments has also been recommended in the next fiscal year. Read More
